Indefinite peronal sentences are made this way:
- drop the subject of a sentence (we don’t say who does the action)
- put the verb in 3rd person plural (они — говорят, делают, пишут)
В газетах пишут, что в этом году будет хороший урожай.
In such sentences the action is more important than the performer of the action.
There are several cases when we use these sentences:
- we aren’t interested in the person who performs the action (or we don’t care) Здесь строят новый магазин.
- when you make laws rules (what’s forbidden) У нас не курят.
- traditions, way of doing something Так по-русски не говорят.
- where the action takes place normally (we want to do it) В парке по вечерам играют в шахматы.
- what people are tend to do in some places В России в доме разуваются.
